Bedside table lights vs pendant lights
When it comes to designing the perfect bedroom, ceiling lighting is key to making sure that the ambience in your room is balanced. From sleek and modern to oak-furnished and traditional ceiling pendant lights, the mood is never quite right until you get the lighting down to a tee.
Bedroom lighting such table light and pendant bedside lights is particularly important as you don’t always want to light up the whole room, and you need the convenience of being able to switch the lights off when you’re in bed.
So how do you choose the right lighting? What’s going to look best with the look you’re going for?
We’ve put two of the most popular bedside lighting options to the test to help you determine which one is best for you.
Pendant lights
Ceiling pendant lights are a great, relatively new option when it comes to bedside lighting. They’re getting more and more popular by the day and come in a huge array of different shapes and sizes. But what makes them so good?
Firstly, they save space on your bedside cabinet, giving you more room to put more of the things you need right where you sleep. Any lotions, clocks, jewellery stands and books will be able to sit comfortably on your bedside table if your light is hanging above it.
Another great thing about pendant lights is that they’re easier to turn on and off. How many times have you found yourself fumbling around behind your bedside cabinet trying to find the switch to turn off your light? That’s no longer an issue when the switch is visible and easy to reach.
You also have the pleasure of choosing exactly where they go. You can adjust their height, pick their placement, and therefore make sure the lighting is exactly perfect for how you envisioned your room to look, and with all the styles and various shapes available, pendant lights make it easier than ever to get every last detail spot on.
Bedroom table lights
Table lights have their own benefits, too. Most people grew up with table lights on their bedside cabinets, and they’re a steadfast and reliable option that isn’t likely to go out of fashion soon, but what else makes table lamps a worthwhile lighting option?
The main benefit of table lamps is that there’s no hardwiring required to install them in your room. You don’t have to drill holes or measure walls and ceilings to get the perfect lighting. In fact, all you have to do is screw in a bulb and plug in the lamp and you’re good to go.
They’re also incredibly easy to switch out for the exact same reason. If you don’t like how they look, you don’t have to suffer through refilling holes you’ve made or have someone uninstall them for you. You can simply unplug them, and switch them out for another table lamp that suits the look of your room better.
In reality, both are really great options with lots of benefits, but it comes down to what you’re looking for and your personal preference when choosing the perfect lighting for your bedroom.
